micro1 Review (2026): Expert Pay, Zara Interview, and the Open Referral Program

How much micro1 pays
micro1 does not publish a single blanket hourly rate. Each opportunity lists its own compensation, and the company says that figure is visible before you apply. Third-party write-ups often quote US$50–200 per hour for specialized roles; treat that as a range reported by others, not an official rate card.
Practical rule: read the posting you are actually applying to. Pipelines can be hourly or per task, and the unit changes how you should think about your time.
The Zara interview and certification
The funnel is: apply → complete the AI interview with Zara → get "certified" → be matched to a pipeline → work. Certification is not a job offer; it means you are eligible for matching. If no pipeline needs your profile right now, you may wait.
There is no minimum hours commitment once matched, but projects have their own quality checks and can be closed or paused by the client.
The referral program (open to non-members)
micro1's referral rules, from its official documentation and referral page:
- Anyone can register at refer.micro1.ai and copy a unique link per opportunity — you do not need to be hired or certified yourself.
- The referred candidate applies through your link, is certified by Zara, and is matched to a role.
- The payout is released after the candidate completes the minimum work threshold: 10 hours on hourly pipelines, or 1 submitted task on per-task pipelines.
- Payouts are flat, fixed amounts listed on each job posting (the marketing page advertises "up to US$3,000 per successful placement"). They are not percentages of the expert's earnings.
- There is no cap on the number of candidates you can refer; earnings appear under "My Referrals".
Referrers and referred candidates must be different people, and micro1 applies its own eligibility checks. Read the referral terms before sharing links.
Where micro1 fits
